Appending Groupnodes to an already existing Groupnode structure?
Question: In Poser, is it possible to add an extra morph groupnode hierarchy to an already existing hierarchy in a Figure (V4 DAZ) through a pz2 injection? (during runtime obviously)
for example:
original:
Code:groups { groupNode Head { ParamNode Smile } }
in the pz2 injection:Code:groupNode Customgroup { ParamNode OpenMouth }
after injection:Code:groups { groupNode Head { ParamNode Smile } groupNode Customgroup { ParamNode OpenMouth } }
I am making an Injection and right now its is working fine, except with some users it entirely replaces the original V4 group structure (including Morph++ groups), which is very impractical. But with other users it just gets appended.
There's no clear evidence to say that it is a version issue, perhaps it might be an update issue? It doesn't work with my Poser Pro 2012 but it does work with a friend's 2012, it sometimes works with 2010 and doesn't work with 2008... why is this?
I really wish I could help. This is far outside of my knowledge.
ReplyDeleteAll I can do is offer issues I've witnessed that are problematic.
I'm on Windows Vista, and this dammed thing creates its own seperate Program files, which is strange because I go into find a texture or object, and can't see it, but photoshop sees it.
I ended up putting everything on my main public document file so that everything (every user) could all be open to the same stuff from every user account.
I'd want to know more about what kind of OS, Poser file placement, and how the users access their Poser versions or DAZ. These strange anomalies could have more to do with the user's type of OS than the Poser/DAZ stuff itself.
It could be something that screws up with the OS temp file placement, or rather how each Poser/DAZ version retreaves data through it.
Deletedude, you could be very very right about this. By elimination I also suspect that it has to do with the machine we use. I have seen a few comments floating around on the internet about similar things.
DeleteProblem is now... wtf do I do about THAT? "Sorry, buy a Mac! Or install XP!" hahaha.
My previous PC was on XP and I never had such issues. I still think W7 usability is annoying, even though it is quite fast. And now that debacle W8? metro? are you kidding me? XP was just so simple and straight forward :P My type of platform.
sigh
Oh, IDK. I would have bought a mac if I didn't own a ka-jillion shit load of props & models designed to work with Poser on windows.
DeleteAgain, I wish I could help, but sadly my knowledge of code is very limited. I can imagine that many are like us, but should you succeed (where many have failed) you will be granted the respect of a great kung fu warrior.
You'll be the One/Neo of Poser Matrix.
I was thinking of upgrading to windows 7, and I have seen people comment that it works fine with Poser 9, but Windows 8 seem not at all with PP2012, so F that!
DeleteI would bump up to 7, but I obviously I don't want to rock my already shakey boat ready to sink any minute.
Oh, Lordy, bubba, you're asking the wrong guy.... but I hope intellects vast and cool and unsympathetic will give you the advice you're seeking, without the heat ray and the tripods, oh, my!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so too pal! thanks!
