DS Version Uploaded... waiting for Q&A

Pray for me, because my internet has been utter shit the last few days (Been trying to download my recently purchased Poser Pro 2014 for the last few days!! Their Download Manager is not Africa Proof... grrrr).

Uploaded! :D

Ok now we wait for Q&A, and I'll write a blurb for the product. Not sure if we're going to lump it under one product, or as a separate one.

Getting all excited with the new Poser Pro! And can't wait to get to work on comics again. Don't worry, don't worry... the update with materials and poses comes first!

  5. Let me know if PP2014 is worth it. I have PP2012, with subdivided SR update thing for Genensis.
I simply cannot justfy a new version after only 2 years of finally getting my filing order straight.

    1. I'm dying to try it out myself, maybe tonight I might have some time. I'll let you know, also because I wanna see if Lali's Bits will be working for it. Anything particular you want me to look out for?

    2. Thanks.
No, not really just curious if there is anything substantually new, that is legitimately an improvement.

I tried to find out what was added since the SR3 upgrade, but I don't believe they've made the case that there is any reason to upgrade other than a new icon or the usual new models that won't work with Lali's Bits, or be worth the trouble.
I'm nearing a need for a new computer so I'm cautious about pointless upgrades that simply waste space with nothing new in operation.

    3. Although if they did emplement the subdivided range to work with older Poser models that might be nice. Then maybe I can dust off my old Miki2 with better up close detailed morphs.

She was my favorite, but her vertice count was low making morphs ugly blocks impossible to sculpt with better detail.

    4. yeah I read about the subdivide thingy. I'll let you know as soon as I know more. It will take a few days before I can sit and try it out properly though (haven't even installed it yet!!). There's a lot going on with updates, DS version and over here at home, I'm renovating my work place. Should be done in a few days. Merciless comic-making on the way!

    1. I wasn't expecting that I needed any help with the DS version and thought I could just swap the Poser version with the DS version. But now we also need to include Poison to the deal, who worked hard for it. So we're busy working out how to do this over at Renderotica.

For now, email me personally with your order number. I'll see what I can do.

  9. can we get this to work with genesis figures.if so how?

    1. this has been the question of many Genesis users, and up until now there hasn't been any answer. Some talk about this GenX plugin, but I don't have a clue how it works (I'm not even familiar with DS). I guess it could be possible with Poser if you match V6's mesh directly with V4's shape, and then use the Copy Morphs From utility... but that's a BIG if. I don't know if Poser would copy the dependencies too.

  10. It is possible to convert Lali's Bits to Genesis via GenX. I have explained how to do it in the DAZ Forums (http://www.daz3d.com/forums/viewthread/28342/).

A brief summary: The trick is to convert the Poser version from within Poser to a .CR2 Figure file and then use this converted figure as the basis for the GenX transfers within DAZ Studio.

    1. Open GenX.
    2. Locate the converted Lali in your Content Library, and drop it into the GenX window. The morphs will now load.
    3. Right-click in the Transfer window, and set the “Show in List” options to “No Controlled Morphs” and “Empty Controllers”. You will now be able to see all the Lali morphs.
    4. To transfer a morph it must be checked and its value set to 1.
