Poser Update #1 and the DS version

Hey fans, users, customers, peeps,

Just a quick note. DS version is sorted (confirmed for DS4.6 too), but being delayed due to another possible breakthrough (just a day or two... don't worry its coming! I'm waiting for permissions, confirmations etc... long story)

Since February a handful of people have reported problems with cross-talking and save failures in Poser Pro 2012. For a long time I was rather clueless where this problem came from, especially since most customers didn't really seem to have problems, and I couldn't reproduce the problem.

But, a couple of Lali Bits customers, a Poser tech and I seem to have found a solution now!!! I say 'seem' because it has only been confirmed by two people. A third seemed to have the saving issue sorted out, but still suffered from cross-talking. We're checking into his runtime structure now (you'll probably need to have M4 in the same runtime as your V4).

So anyway, this will thus be Update #1. Update #2 with the poses, extra materials, etc, will come later some time.

If you have similar problems, and you wanna test it, send me an email with a title: "Me want update!" incl your order number, and I'll send you the new injection version. I can start sending by tonight.

PS: if you get an autoresponder, no panic, that's just because inbox has been going nuts lately.

PSS: please pass this news on. Copy paste the text if you want. This will get announced on Rotica as soon as I have 100% confirmation that it works.

    1. FYI, the plugin I was talking about is called GenX (I don't know if you read my reply below)

  3. almost done, almost done!

Genesis? Not that I know of. Some dude over a Rotica said that it was possible with some plugin. Sounded complex though. I'll try find it.

You can use the prop for Genesis, but the bend corrections won't work. I recommend Zev0's Bend Morphs for Genesis over at Renderosity.

  4. Andrew at 'rotica just sent me a download link for 1.04, but I have a question. Is it possible to apply the update to figures I've saved to my library? I didn't have the save issue but I do have a crosstalk problem. I really don't want to have to start from scratch on my saved characters.

    1. hey Matt, sorry for the delayed reply. I'm not sure if overwriting an existing Lalified figure will work, I'll have to check. What Poser version are you running?

  5. I tried overwriting on my base Lalified V4 and it seemed to work. Crosstalk issues were eliminated. I had to adjust a few settings to get her back to what I had saved but that wasn't a big deal.On some of my other figures, we'll see. They have far more parameter dials changed so I'm not sure what they'll do. I'll let you know.

  6. OK, It worked. Minor fiddling with a few parameter dials that had been set to something other than what I had them at, but all in all no big deal.

    1. oh brilliant :) I think maybe (if you still have the old version of your Lali) that you can save a 'Pose' with morph channels, that you can apply the pose back to your 1.04 lali and you'll get your old proportions back. I presume it doesn't mess with the coding, not sure, but give it a try anyway. Make sure you back up your currently working figure though ;)

  7. So far that hasn't been necessary. I do have one figure that wants to fight me on it, I may try that with her.

Hey, because of a sudden influx of spam, I need to moderate comments from now on, unfortunately. I'll try find a work-around in the meanwhile. Cheers!
