Tips

Here's a new page for if you have any general 3D or Poser related questions.

Not much as of yet, but feel free to ask questions.

I am very busy, so  might take a bit of time to respond. Feel free to help out others.

I run Poser Pro 2014 SR5.2 (? lost count)

  1. I had a lovey surprose today, 10% discount on Lali's Bits at Renderotic. Thank you Erogenesis. Now, as per instructions, I am reading the manual, before I install the zip files. Good thing too, as my V4.2 and other Daz people is in an older external runtime.

  2. Hi Erogenesis. I am have lots of fun, in fact, so much fun I haven't used Daz Studio for ages, with the exception of sending Daz content to Poser via dyson. I must also say sorry, because I didn't read all the manual, so I am still finding new and wonderful aspects of Lali's bits.

I hope all is well with you and you have time to create more comics rather than pander to the likes of me.

Have fun and keep up the good work.

  3. Hi, I was wondering how you set up your camera and lights for your "webcam" pictures?

    1. yo Hasaan. Sorry for the late reply. The webcam pics are like any other poser scene, except perhaps a blue light parented to the 'camera' to give a sense of 'flash camera', or something. The post-working in photoshop is where its at. Basically you can either add a noise layer to your render, or RGB horizontal lines, and blend it with the 'Soft Light' option. Then add a blue colorized hue layer and set is at 50%, or also blend it. Basically you need to play with some kind of distortion layer over the original layer. High contrast and some desaturation also helps to give the feel of webcam pics. There's a lot you can try. Hope this helps a bit!

  4. Have any tips for lighting? I'm rubbish at even basic lighting and run into all kinds of problems with AO and Ray tracing. Also wondered if you know how to turn off texture filtering in poser been having issues with that and dark skinned characters as well.

    1. check this out: http://erogenesis-art.deviantart.com/journal/Good-renders-fear-of-shadows-and-the-black-body-549094064

and regarding texture filtering, check out SnarlyGribby's 'Scene Fixer' application. You can set all the texture filters to crisp (which is what I always do).

Skins of characters is indeed a challenge. I'll see what I can do. I already started a big tutorial for Poser but there's so much to cover and that might all change with the upcoming new version of Poser.
