Hey DAZ users,
DS Version is almost done (3D Renderotica vendor Poison helped out). It has been submitted and is in Q&A now! For now it seems like it will only work for DS4 and 4.5. Conversions to DS3 are failing (both from Poser AND DS4.5). Many DS users are saying that DS3 is dead so, I think I'll have to go along with that if nothing changes. Any thoughts?
WARNING: until the DS version hits the shops, you'll need POSER to convert it for DAZ4.5 (read below)
Plus, if you are not a little familiar with Poser, then I STRONGLY recommend you wait for the official DAZ version.
- At your own risk: you can run it in Poser and export the 'unbinarized' CR2 to DAZ (read below for detail). This worked fine with Poser 7, 8, 9 and Pro going into DS 4.5! This has not been tested very thoroughly but from Poser Pro 2012 to DAZ 4.5 seems to work very stable (a famous DAZ artist is currently working fine with it).
- Post below for any additional questions
Poser to DAZ port:
In Poser Pro 2012: I did the whole python injection process, and saved the V4 as an unbinarized figure in Poser Pro 2012 (SR3.1; Version: 9.0.3.23027) (Edit > General Preferences > Last tab > uncheck "external binary morph targets". Don't forget to recheck when done.). Then I loaded that same figure into DAZ 4.5 and it seemed to work fine. The JCMs responded fine, the face morphs worked fine, the pussy opened fine. This process was tested and confirmed by a DAZ tster. Compatible with Steph, She-Freak, Morphs++...
This has been confirmed by Renderotica testers with Posers 7, 8 and 9. I did with 2012. Other versions just haven't been tested a lot...

So anyway, you can try if you want, or wait for the official DAZ version. I'm not a DAZ user, so, I don't dare to say that much.

I'll post any news a.s.a.p
Smart Parenting in DAZ 4.5.
ReplyDeleteParent the object in place, then with the parented object selected go to file/save as/support asset/figure-prop assets. This will bring up a "filtered save" pop up. Choose a location within DAZ My Library or create a folder in My Library, name your prop/figure and save. This will bring up a "Figure/Prop Assets Save Options pop up. I usually leave "Asset Definitions" all ticked and also compress files. TICK Smart Parenting then click accept. The prop/figure will be saved where you specified and if the parent too figure is selected, the prop will load and parent.
thanks for the tip!
Deletesorry I'm late with replying
No drama on late replies.
ReplyDeleteI am more than a little disappointed at this particular moment. I have been a Poser user since Poser 5, then 6 then 8. I have also used Daz 2, 3, 4 and 4.5. All because they were free downloads when I have got them so I tried them. I was never impressed with 2 or 3. I started using 4 because I was able to get reasonable renders out and liked Genesis because it was weight mapped and also one avatar morphed to whatever was required. I find myself currently unemployed and couldn't upgrade to Poser 9 or 2012 Pro.
I have just received an email from Smith Micro with a sale on Poser, $150.00 for 2012 Pro and $65 for Poser 9. Plus coupons giving 80% discount on figures, animals, clothing and creatures. I have just spent about $65 on Garibaldi hair (dynamic hair that Poser does as standard) and animate 2. Animate 2 was a washout for Genesis because of the subdivision that Daz does. Genesis looked so distorted with most animation.
Bottom line, had I waited, I could have had Poser 9 for what I have spent trying to bring Daz 4.5 closer to what Poser can do.
That sucks major ass! I'd stick with Poser for now if I were you. I find DAZ to be a little bit all over the place now. Its good that its for free, but free software has a tendency to loose quality in my experience (perhaps because people are less inclined to complain bitterly haha).
DeleteIn the end, they are both good programs, but I think its a combination of what we're used to, and what we want out of them.
I have been fiddling with DAZ for the last month and my conclusion is that its too much of an 'experimenting' modular plaform for me. I have no time for that and just wanna get on with it. In fact, before this I was thoroughly annoyed at Poser for a number of reasons but since I started to play with DAZ, my respect for Poser has grown. Its the perfect platform for me, simple, straight-forward and fast. More action for less mouse-clicking IMO. The renderer is fast, and very adequate for my purposes.
One thing that struck me is that I found myself having to watch videos and look up tutorials to understand how to use DAZ, whereas I honestly never consulted Poser's manual before 2011, and since then I've checked it on occasion to learn about the dials in the SSS nodes.
That doesn't mean DS is crap. By far. There are a lot of really good functions in DS that I wish Poser could have, like the push modifier, or smooth modifier, but it isn't so important to me that I'd leave the comparatively smooth sailing I experience with Poser.
I hope you don't mind, I have recently purchased LALI's bits (today) and have begun a conversion to the Genesis figure. Unfortunately, after hours of work, I mis-saved the directory information and am back to square one, but at least there are morph channels for *most* of the morphs. If I can stop from being lazy, I think I might try to restructure it again. BTW: Freakin' AWESOME project you have here. Best of luck with everything!
ReplyDeletethere you are... I kept on forgetting to reply to you!
Deletehey, good luck haha. If you manage to port that shit over to V5, then you have my respect! The biggest bitch is the ERC coding, the way the JCMs respond to the leg movements. If you can get that shit translated, give me a call, then we might have something very cool going.
Thanks man. And thanks for buying. Don't forget to enjoy it huh? :)
In relation to the discounts on Poser and other items as mentioned above. It seems it is only a newsletter subscriber offer. I have checked both Content paradise and Smith Micro web sites and the prices are the standard price. Content Paradise page where you subscribe to the news letter does say subscribers receive speacial offers not available to the general public. The offer expires 21 march. SO I have some deep thought between now and then as Poser Pro would be nice. When I click on the link to purchase either version of Poser it goes straight to a shopping cart with the discounted price.
ReplyDeleteooooooooooooh now THAT's a tough one! Yeah I got the full package Poser Pro 2012 and even though it might be a little on the expensive side, I have no regrets at all. I know little about Poser 9 except that its doesn't have a few features, the one I know is the full body morph load and delete which I really cannot do without. Honestly? $150 for Poser Pro 2012 is a fucking bargain of note, from $500 to $150 is nuts, that's even cheaper than the upgrade. Read the terms properly, if there's no tricks, I'd say go for the real deal, not half...
Delete... but that's me :)
OK, I have been naughty and bought Poser Pro. It looks like I need to double my efforts to find a new job. Erogenesis, I will be sending some money your way tomorrow or the day after as I also want Lali's bits. I've over 5 GB to download so I will be busy for a while. It is a full (digital only) version. I would suggest they are soon to upgrade to a newer version as these sales have in the past been an offer just before a version upgrade, then they usually follow up with a great upgrade offer. But I could be wrong.
ReplyDeletehaha naughty indeed! Dude congrats, and yeah get that job!
DeleteListen, post any questions here if you get stuck (that way other folks might also find it useful), whenever I have time I can help you out.
It is my intention to make a simple tutorial for making awesome renders in Poser. In the process I'll share some of my settings and lighting etc...
Thank you, I will, as I am sure I will have questions and tips and techniques are always helpfull.
Deletein fact, slap them over here:
Deletehttp://erogenesis.blogspot.com/p/poser-help.html
I'm sure there are more folks with Poser questions.
Hey! enjoy, ok?
As a PS. if there are any Daz users reading this and want a 70% discount on Poser Pro or 78% discount on Poser 9, I suggest you subscribe to the news letter as the offer is valid until 21 March and I would think the next news letter woould also have a reference/link to this sale.
ReplyDeleteErogenesis, a suggestion if you were ever thinking of making a Lali bits for Daz Genesis, it would not be the best to use a smart prop. Genesis uses what is referred to as geo grafting. For example, Vicky 5 genitals are a geo graft. From what I see it seems that the geo graft take the place of the genesis geometry and then reacts as if it is the genesis geometry, complete with texture maps etc. I don't claim to be an expert, in fact, I am less than a novice. But I have always wanted to know more. It seems at this point in time, Blondie9999 a Daz vender has two tutorials for sale that seem to cover everything from making figures for daz studio to geo grafting.

http://www.daz3d.com/advanced-rigging-in-daz-studio-4-pro
With a limited time offer of buy advanced rigging and get 50% discount on rigging original figures.
Yeah I heard of this Geografting thing. Yet another complex workaround that might be short-lived or not. Both DAZ and Poser are not really coming up with solid solutions to help the 3D artist along their way. Some people are convinced by Genesis, others are not. I don't give a shit, I just wanna make my comics. All I want is a fast workflow good renderer at the end.
DeleteAs for figures, V4 really made a big impact on the market and its not even finished IMO: they didn't even bother to make proper software to help make smooth injections... and now this Genesis thing. Yeah right. I'm not impressed. And after experimenting with DS itself, even less so. Its all over the place. Neither DAZ or SM are really getting to the point and making an all-round user-friendly app that helps you order and master everything you need as a 3D artist. DS cannot even render properly, Poser's workflow seems to be quite solid, but its FBM handling is still lousy. What's the point of having Genesis if you cannot even make it look nice (or maintain it)? They both seem to be farting around, enjoying the freedom of monopolizing a small market.
I don't know, I'm kindof making my own plans rather than kiss DAZ's ass once again. I've kindof had enough of DAZ and I'm beginning to feel the urge to start writing my own rules. We'll see...

Deleteon this clip can you seen ,how do I create Lali for DAZ 4.5 Pro
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDyt1D6Gjyk&feature=youtu.be
and a pic Lali of S4

very very cool!!!! thank you for sharing that with us!
ReplyDeletewhy did you take down the pictures, they were cool too!
it was just a test to see how well it can work with DAZ 4.5 Pro.
ReplyDeleteOk, yes it is ..... especially because yes, the program is available for nothing.
But there is no doubt, Victoria 4.2 is just more versatile. Although one the Genesis - can use figure well as a dummy. Every star needs his double and why should not Lali also get a stunt double.
And I as a layman in matters 3D art still looking my way.
Ok so first things first, your product looks amazing and is EXACTLY what I am looking for and have been longing for, so I got over excited when i saw this advertised on Renderotica.com. So i read the description and saw it needed DAZ's V4 to work but, and here's the dumbass-move on my part, didnt see anywhere that is wasnt compatible with DAZ itself. So i bought it. It wasnt until i read the manual in the download that i saw It wouldnt work in DAZ without a poser import. I know you had the user manual as a free download on the advertisement page but i got over excited and didnt read that first. im NOT criticizing you OR your product, it looks amazing, but id ask , could you please put a little something in the description to say its not yet available for stand alone DAZ use, so other dumbasses like myself dont get too over eager. I know i lost $20 but I dont see it as a waste, because i know you guys are working on a DAZ version and when it comes out, it will be fantastic. Thanks,
ReplyDeleteone facepalming dumbass.
OOPS! I just realised I replied to the 'no-reply' email of blogger and not to you! :P
DeleteTalkabout facepalming... please send me an email and I can also help you out in the morning!!
I'll email Rotica tomorrow about the description.

ReplyDeleteone look at the sample renders and i bought Lalis bits in a flash. unfortunately didn't realise til afterwards that the injections don't work in DS, and there are issues with Poser 7. guess what ? - I own Poser 7. However, i primarily want to use it in DAZ Studio 4.5, so what i want to know is can Poser 7 adequately convert the injections to use in DS 4.5? Is there going to be a DS upgrade any time soon? and will there ever be a Genesis / V5 version?
ReplyDeleteI love this utility and i'll be heartbroken if i cant use it.
PS, my eyesight isn't what it was, so the only way I can read this site is to copy all the text and paste it into a word processor. grey text on a black background isn't a good idea really. i used it myself when i was younger and less experienced in the art of graphic design - learned its shortcomings the hard way..
Thanks for buying. Send me an email and I can help you out in the morning!! Off to sleep now.
DeleteI better get that text changed over at Rotica... :P

ReplyDeletedo i have to rebuy this product to get the DAZ update once its done?
ReplyDeleteDear Erogenesis.
ReplyDeleteYour product is wonderful and I will still buy it, despite having Poser 2012.
But your comment for Poser and Daz Studio everything you think of the two programs is the same with me. Only in reverse. I met Daz studio, I got used to it and do not fit in Poser.
But, in my opinion, are two great programs. Professionals prefer to do all the clothes rigging in Daz Studio. But prefer to do your Renders in Poser. For me, this war, this prejudice of a program against another big silly. Users fight for better program. But who wins is Daz3D and Smith Micro are partners and not worry about the big mistakes of their programs.
I have a question for you, I have a charcater for V4, very famous, I would like to know if your product will work with my character.
Follow the link, 4 RAR files. Do not underestimate my character she is great. Download and try it, you will like Bruuna and tell me if your product can work with your shape.
Thanks and a big hug.
Roberto.
_ Sorry my bad Inglês!
